luby's is great. it's unfortunate that they've raised prices so much in the last couple years that half price only brings it back to where it should be

I've noticed that Luby's is hit or miss. The newer ones are awesome. The old ones are kind of gross because they get less foot traffic and the food sits out longer.

i like it, because it's a good place to go to get regular food. it used to be nice and inexpensive and you didn't have to tip. they've raised prices, and have "waiters" now. i've probably gotten assistance from one of those waiters 3-4 times since they brought them in. what stupid move. why would i want to tip someone after i stood inline to get my food and carried it to my table myself? plus they obviously didn't give them any training at all. i think i've left a buck maybe twice.

My wife is going to be so happy...

Luby's was good. Then Pappas took over and it is just ok and it costs twice as much.

Screw Luby's. If you want good cafeteria style food, go to Cleburne's.

Yeah thanks to all the non-debit-card-carrying old people that go there. Definitely better than Luby's though.

So we went to luby's tonight, didn't get the luann, but my wife had a coupon.

Anyways at check out I'm ready to pay and I think the young lady says $28.01, so I ask my wife for a penny, we wait while she gets her purse out, gets into the coin section and hands me the penny(all in full view of the cashier). I then hand $30.01 to the cashier, she didn't say anything, just punched it into the computer and all of a sudden a bunch of change comes down the little coin Schliterbahn slide, and she hands me a $1 bill with the receipt. I looked perplexed and said why are you giving me coins, she said because it was $28.08 and you gave me $30.01.

I just about busted out laughing as she had absolutely no clue as to the whole change thing and what I was trying to avoid by giving her the penny. Couldn't believe that she didn't reiterate the total when I handed her the money.

I'm starting to sound like my parents but, geeez these kids today.

And BTW, it is expensive, our bill for a family of four was almost $30 that included a $5 off coupon.

For luby's yeah.

Just a year or so ago they were running kids eat free quite a bit. So compared to that yeah, it costs more to eat there than before.

I had an awesome oh eff moment when I got to the cash regesiter at Cleburns on a Sunday at 12 PM and found out they are cash only. Thank God the girl with me had cash.
