Uverse is now available in my area, and I have always been saying that I would get it as soon as it was here. However, now that I am comparing prices and services, I don't think I am convinced. Currently with Comcast I have the equivilent of U200 with the sports package added with DVR and HD. I also have comcast's fastest internet available with which I get around 25mps to my servers in Dallas and probably average around a 10-15mpbs connection elsewhere.

Right now I pay around $135 and looking at Uverse I will be paying $134 with a little slower internet speed.

I can see no other advantages. My service has been fine, no interruptions since Ike.

Why should I make the switch to pay the same with slower internet?

Sounds like you should stick with Comcast if you're happy with it.

Crappy service with technicians that are unable to solve my issues have driven me to Uverse.

Install on Nov. 3 - only 9 more days of Crapcast!!!!

I just got UVerse and I like it so far, after a day.....it's harder to navigate the DVR than a TiVo...I'll tell you that much so far.

can you schedule the comcast dvr from the internets? Uverse can. its way sweeter than DTV, thats fo sho.

How many HD channels do you get with Comcast?

Check to see if U-verse is offering the $200 rebate after 60 days. When I signed up, the U-200 was required. Looks like you are there already.

I get all the same channels accept for the HDnet and Hdnet movies, I have to pay extra for that with Comcast, but I don't want em anyways.

I would qualify for the $200 rebate though. That's about the only other pro I can see.

If you are paying a monthly fee for each box, you would save there.

Plus, with Uverse you can access the DVR from each receiver now.

i'm not 100% sure, but I don't think this is the case anymore. They were supposedly going to charge $5 for each additional STB.

i find the dvr list VERY easy to navigate since they changed it when the whole house dvr became available. it groups all the shows together, like if you record two & half men, it will simply say two & half men on the main screen, then on the right side a number showing how many episodes there are, just select it and there all the shows are.

Try calling Comcast and telling them that you are thinking about switching to Uverse but wanted to give them a chance to adjust your rates before you did it. They will usually give you whatever promotional rates they have going for 6 months.

Saved me $30/ month.

You can DVR 4 shows at one time with Uverse and only 2 with Comcast.

I can tell you that I have it, and I love it.

Why did the U-verse "guide" state that the Texas v OSU game started at 3 pm?

If I wasn't home, the DVR wouldn't have started on time (2:30). It wouldn't have started until 3:00.

They have a 30,30,30 plan right now.

and a good internet access is 30

I had already installed my service so don't let them tell you it's only for new customers! I always fight for what I want.

Thanks Agman. I just did the same and they cut over $30 off my monthly bill as well. The lady said to call back in 6 months when it's over and they will repackage it again for another discount.

Installing this afternoon.
