I have read several posts on CitySearch and TexAgs about this burger joint. I am considering it for lunch today. Is it as good as people make it out to be?

maybe the best burger in Houston. i literally grew up on it when it was located just across the tracks in that $higgedy-$herwood.

usually hit it up once a week for lunch.

is Henry (asian dude) still runnin that joint? we used to ride our bikes up to the old location at least 2-3 times a week during the summer as kids. we were real cool with henry but one day he said "you girls want anything to drink?" and i said "yes ma'am" and he banned me and one of my buddies for one month. weirdest thing ever. my friend and i would stand outside while the other ones were allowed to chow down inside. after a month it was like nothing had ever happened.

good stuff.

there is the asian dude that is the cook there, he is on top of his sh*t during the lunch rush... maybe thats him?

Went there on Friday and I couldn't believe how packed this place was. The asian dude was definitely taking care of his sheet on that grill. I ordered the super burger (double meat double cheese) and it was delicious. Definitely a top 3 burger of my whole life. And the onion rings to boot.

Will definitely hit this place up again.

Beck's Prime burgers. Over priced, bloody burgers, with soggy french fries that taste like old grease.

Their chili cheese dog isn't bad though.

Sam's is pretty good stuff. It isn't my favorite burger place in Houston, but Sam's is probably the best in the Energy Corridor area.

And yes, Henry is still working the grill.

i agree with wolfman, but definately better than becks.

i will say that i enjoyed Beck's the one time i dined there

theres nothing wrong with becks, its good...just not the GREATEST!

there are by far better burgers in this town than becks. Sam's is one of them.

Sam's guac pepper jack burgers are quite good.

Has anybody ever had the All Day Burger?

I can smell bacon cooking from Sam's from our back yard every morning when I take our dogs out.

I was wondering about the All-Day Burger when I went there, and I just seems like a heart attack waiting to happen.

1/3 lb beef patty
bacon
fried egg
2 sausage patties
cheese
vegetables

i had some Sam's today, as well.

i also have a case of afternoon bubble guts.
