I'm looking to donate some furniture, but would like to find a place that will come and pick it up. I don't believe goodwill will do that, but I've heard that salvation army will.

Anybody have any suggestions or recommendations?

When I was a kid, my mother would donate all our clothes we outgrew to Purple Heart. They would come by to pick the stuff up. The problem is that they would call all the freakin time. Like a stray dog, you give em' something once, and they keep calling. I would arrange a time with them when I talk to them first, then give them a fake number.

I agree about Purple Heart...once you donate, they will hound you until you swear off giving to a charity ever again.

The Forge, ministers to inner-city families, will come pick up furniture and gives it to families in need. They are on the web.
