I just moved a friend into the Maroneal yesterday (it's in the Med Center). Very nice apartments...

my suggestion is to look on HAR and find a privately owned condo rather than a complex. stay on the almeda side of reliant (around cambridge and el paseo...or holly hall) you can find a 2/1 for 750 or less

You do not want to live on El Paseo and Cambridge. Unless you want to get robbed.

Hadn't thought about the whole condo thing, I'll look into it. I have a buddy that stays at kirby place and it seemed prety basic for the price he is paying, but I would venture to guess most of that cost is associated with the location.

the plus about looking into the condos in that area is that you can find some really nice ones that have extensive renovations for cheap. and almost ALL of the units in that area include water and cable. i only have to pay for electric and internet...which is great. AND all of the units have washer and dryer.....it is so convenient after living in the montrose area where there is only laundry facilities in most small complexes

i know har had a 1/1 listed at one montreal place that had been completely redone (new hardwoods, new appliances, etc) for like 675 i think...there are a ton listed on HAR.

I lived at the corner of El Paseo and Cambridge and while I was not a victim of crime, MANY people at the corner were.

You're lucky you haven't been a victim of a crime. But if you do any research, you will see that it's a very high crime area.

Ellie is right. There is a reason those places are cheap. I know they are nice, but there is a reason that they rent so cheap. There is such a high risk of being a victim of a crime.

To the OP, what is your budget? This really can determine what you are eligible for.
