Thanks. Gathering multiple quotes. Fairly big job - new gas service line from meter to house.

Have you checked with Atmos? I have gas on my street but not to my house. Atmos ran the line for $60. I had to hire a licensed plumber for gas lines from the meter but not for the new service.

Edit - just reread your post. So never mind.

After a trying several days of getting quotes and a week of no gas the job is done.

Ended up using Blue Moon Plumbing. Very happy with their pricing, communication and workmanship. Highly recommend. Will be referring to my inspection and realtor clients from now on.

Did call the first two companies recommended here. Mothers came out and quoted. They were 150% more and seem to follow new model of trying to upsell so much stuff. They were friendly, but I don't like that business model and knew the price was too high. Workman never called back. Definitely a sad state of things around here for getting contractors. I received quotes from 6250 to 18k. Some of these companies are gouging at almost criminal rate! Make sure you shop around!

Among the other companies I tried was a company called Pure. AVOID them at all costs! Don't even have them out. They were extremely pushy and weird and ended up basically Swatting me with ATMOS to get my gas turned off for a VERY small leak that could barely be detected. They left then showed back up an hour later carrying a pipe wrench and demanding to turn off my gas. No discussion, no request, just a weird passive aggressive Karen type move as the guy held a pipe wrench threateningly at my door. When I equally aggressively invited him off my property they called Atmos on me TWICE. The first Atmos tech was going to leave the gas on the leak was so minor and in a place that wasn't dangerous (which I had known,) but the second call pretty much forced them to turn it off. Ironically, Pure had never even gave me a quote. But they caused us to be without gas for a week instead of 3.5 days..
