I've resisted putting in a pool at our house for years but our kids are entering high school and it feels like a mandatory teen friends hosting requirement, so we are considering a small pool. My wife is worried I will drown in it after another gut wrenching Aggie football meltdown and subsequent consumption. Depending on the game, she may be right.

We put ours in in 2016. I thought $64k to dig a giant hole, build a firepit, and do a ton of decking was crazy back then. Pool + hot tub. My neighbors got a Covid pool. Significantly smaller and cost them $140k. Crazy.

That said, I wouldn't have another house without one. We use it all the time. Kids were 2, 0, and not even a twinkle in the eye when we built.
