My family just moved to Grapevine and the new house has a pool. We have a 2.5 year old daughter who has loved playing in the pool (with both myself and my wife on full alert with her) but we are wanting to get swim lessons for her due to safety. Our plan was to have my sister-in-law teach her since she has done it the past 4-5 summers and is a certified instructor/lifeguard but she just moved to Austin to start a job. Does anyone have any recommendations?

We use Aqua-Tots for the past year and have been very happy with the program.
He's not to the point of swimming yet but knows to come to the surface and try to find the wall.

…most of the time, anyway. Still no way I'd let him around the pool solo - but he's not afraid of the water and enjoys it.

Do you know what the youngest age is that they teach?

We did goldfish for our oldest and hated it. The local city pool offered a 2 week crash course and that was the biggest hit with ours. Much cheaper too.

My wife teaches at Emler for a side gig/fun. It seems to be a good program if there is one near you.

We're in Rockwall and using the city pool as well. We've heard mixed things about Aqua-tots but as it's a big franchise it's likely due to the local team.

Thanks for all the recommendations. Seems like Emler is the best bet but I am still looking at GCISD offering swim lessons for much cheaper.

I doubt you'd want to go to Richardson, but in case anyone else is reading, Rosey is the best!

GCISD natatorium will likely be just fine. Emler is more of a 'fun' environment, whereas GCISD will be less frills.

If the goal is to get your kiddo comfortable in the water, I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I'd recommend ISR. Not cheap but worth it. We did Emler for a while and yeah the kids get comfortable in the water but progress towards being safe was way too slow.

We've done it with all our kids. Youngest turned two in March.
