Any hotel recommendations walking distance near the Dickies Center in Fort Worth?

There is a Home2 suites on university and Lancaster (or close to there). There are also a few at 30 and Montgomery, neither is really "walking distance" for most people, but it could be done.

There is quite a bit of parking at Dickies, and getting in and out isn't that bad, so you may want to just drive

I've had a different experience. Don't park in that parking garage because it's a nightmare to get out of.

Bowie House and the Crescent are both lovely, but not walkable to Dickies. Maybe a 5 minute drive at the most. I agree that there is tons of parking available, and also that getting out of that garage after an event is frustrating - I once parked on one of the upper levels and it took an hour to get out after the rodeo. The least it's ever taken me was 10 minutes parked on level 2. If you can manage to park in one of the lots, that is much better. Or uber/lyft.

Yep! Took us 45 minutes to get out after a regular rodeo performance.

Good to know. I've been parking in the surface lot.

There's three types of parking in the garage -- reserved, regular, and preferred.

For major events like the rodeo, anyone preferred is going to get priority over regular. 20 regular and 1 preferred? The 20 are going to have to wait. As mentioned above, if you're not preferred you are better off parking in the plentiful Yellow Lots. They are still directly across the street from Dickies.

Good to know, the strange thing is my parking pass said preferred and they sent us all the way up to the top level. I even asked the person who scanned my ticket at the gate and they said it didn't get me any particular level. Then when we got in my buddy who also had a preferred parking pass said he got to park on the 1st level. He got there an hr or so before the rodeo and we got there about 30 minutes before it started so maybe that has something to do with it?

Yeah they aren't very clear about it -- it's the first ramp as you come in the person directing left or right usually will point you to the right and to park on that first level if you are preferred but like all things it's at the mercy of whoever is working that event. I've got a Dickies "gift card" for having rodeo seasons and it's about a 25% chance any of the concessions operators knows how to process it (to the point where you've got people behind you waiting so you just wind up paying with CC to get out of there).

Thanks for letting me know, I will look for the first ramp as we come in next time when we have the preferred parking pass. I had a Texas Rangers gift card and it was the same way, every single time!

If you pay with your phone through the Rangers app the discount is automatically applied. At least thats what I do for the Stars. Assume it works for Rangers too. Added bonus, it processes immediately meaning they cant spin the screen around asking for a 20% tip.
