Had a structural engineer out this last week to check our foundation. He said structurally we look fine but we have crappy drainage around the house and need to have a hydrostatic line test for any slab leaks. Anyone have someone you recommend for doing this? We are in north Dallas. Also sounds like we need to have our yard worked on pretty significantly, which we already knew. Previous owners had quite a few drains put in the yard but it all puddles in different places. Any suggestions would be welcome

Think most recommend a video inspection. Old caste iron doesn't do well with hydrostatic testing. Wasn't really design for that even when it was new.

Would recommend talking to a licensed plumbing contractor.

We don't have copper and we did a video inspection when we bought the house about 2 years ago and there were no issues. Hoping that means we don't have current issues and it's just a drainage issue

I have a PHD in ****ty soil, bad foundation, and poor drainage. I bought a bad flip house at a discount and did the repair and replacement work after closing.

I recommend getting your gutters cleaned, placing french drains, make sure there aren't any bellies in the sewer lines, and hiring a foundation company that at minimum has a website with plenty of reviews.

When the foundation was fixed the sewer line broke and it was evident the bellies in the lines were holding too much waste. The first bid was ridiculous. $40K. Drain Kings did it for less than half and was on time.
