They were slow today so service was great. Smashburger and fries were good.

Glad to hear. Would be awesome for Blackhawk and the Wine House to both be staples down town

We'll see how the "broadway tavern" also does.

Area needs more traffic

Baffles me that there are lines for breakfast at whisk and first watch but you can roll into the Gin on Saturday morning and never wait.

One of the best breakfasts in town and ultra cheap.

I think the bad rep from management at the Gin over the past couple years from solid folks that have left are the reason for it not being as busy as it once was. Still a solid breakfast choice.

Tender breakfast on a Saturday still yanks my chain though.

Regarding Black Hawk - I've been 4 times each at a different time of day/week.

Food - some food is good. some is bad.

Poppers - won't get again. they were okay but not entirely what i was expecting either.
Onion rings - taste like frozen garbage
Queso and chips - Meh. some of the worst I've had.
Wedge Steak Salad - i enjoyed - my favorite item so far. waiter told me the Steak charge on the menu was the new price of the salad with steak (18$) and not the steak add on price (which contradicts every menu approach I've ever seen for adding protein). of course the POS rang up the salad as $12 plus $18 for steak. i had them fix that immediately. also told them if their intent was to charge $30 they won't be selling any salads.
Pizza - was good but crust had that overly butter garlic stuff that tastes like dominos.
Fries - more frozen garbage.

Beer - I have enjoyed every beer. I've had some of theirs and some collabs. will be back purely for beer and the TV's. pricing is fair on these.

rooftop on Saturday was slammed. i was sitting at the bar at first pitch to the end. about 8pm it picked up dramatically with the night life crowd. couple next to me waited over 10 minutes to order their drinks. another couple walked away to go downstairs and order. they had 2 bartenders on staff that night - when they got slammed they brought up 2 managers to make drinks too. they definitely sold way more titos and sodas, and cocktails than any draft beer.

Anyone here own a place in Broken Bow? Went for the first time this past week and had a blast.

News Alert:

If you're looking to try The Forge 1912 in downtown Celina (new "upscale" steakhouse) do not get your hopes up.

Do not go for a steak and expect any finer dining vibes. Try the burger or something. Just dropped $250+ last night and I've had better meals at roadhouse and Saltgrass.

We have a place in Broken Bow! It's just north of Hochatown. We love it, but it stays rented so we don't get to go up as much as we'd like.

Nice to see so many fellow Ags in Prosper. We've been here going on 4 years now.
