Posted on the aggie only forum and got not interest.

Thought I would try here locally before getting rid of the stuff. Thought we had some folks with charity type connections. Will be getting rid of it all at some point over the holidays one way or another.

"Have a few medical assistance things we would like to get rid of left over from when my dad was sick. Hate to just throw them out.

Basic walker
Nicer walker with wheels
Transport chair (kinda like a wheelchair, but has to be pushed)
Shower seat

Would love to give them to someone who can use them or a charity. Located in Dallas"

When my 94 year old mother in law passed away a few years ago we donated all her stuff to the Goodwill.

I know our church has kept some of this stuff on hand to lend out when needs arise...might be worth checking with some local churches to see if they could use

Can you share more info on the Transport chair?

We were looking for one this weekend for my dad.
We are looking for a lightweight one that my mom can lift in and out of the car.

Thanks!

Medline Durable Folding Steel Transport Wheelchair with 12-Inch Wheels, 19-Inch Seat Width, Gray Frame, Microban, Burgundy Upholstery https://a.co/d/0XzTixp

Would say the Amazon weight description is wrong. It weighs more than one pound. But it isn't real heavy. Mom can probably handle it. It folds down to put in the car. Like most things it wasn't perfect, but it worked pretty well for us.

Thanks for the info on the transport chair.

That is very similar to what we were looking at so I'm interested in that.

Where are you located?

You can email me.

Thank you.

If you are around the McKinney area; Mission Regan is a great organization. They take all types of used medical supplies and distribute them to people in our area and around the world.

All the stuff has found a new home with someone that can make use of it. Thanks, Texags

Thanks for posting. My need for the roller walker (well my mom's need) is a bit premature. If she even ever gets there.

FYI on that kind of walker.

It is what I would call an advanced walker. As in, they need to be pretty stable and have some hand strength. It defaults to rolling freely and you squeeze the brakes to make it be stable/stationary. Compared to the basic kind without wheels that by default they can lean into and it doesn't want to move.

Definitely makes a difference depending in what their situation and stability is like.

Yeah, pretty familiar with them (nurse here, always called them a Winnie walker). My dad is currently cruising around with one after his open heart surgery.om, if she ever gets some PT & strength back, will need one for the rest of her life after this ankle break.
