Community recommendations 45 mins from East Dallas for retired in laws?

We are looking for communities 45 mins (or less) from East Dallas to recommend to my retired in laws (in mid 70s). They live in Victoria, TX, and generally like it. The ideal community would have:

  • Homes between $250 and $350k;
  • A good traditional Baptist church;
  • A gym with an indoor walking track;
  • An indoor gun range;
  • Solid conservative politics;
  • 45 min (or less) drive to East Dallas.

    For that price range and commute allowance, probably Fate or Royse City.

    maybe a little further out; but Holly Lake Ranch may be worth looking at. Golf course is center piece of the area and it would seem to check the boxes on your list.

    I'm in Rockwall County. I-30 traffic is a nightmare and incredibly dangerous at the moment with I-30 shutdowns pretty much daily due to major accidents. Improvements are underway but it is, and will be, painful for a number of years. They should do their homework and proceed with caution if looking in that corridor.

    No problem. It's a great area but I wouldn't buy here if I-30 is a required commute. If traffic is flowing, easy drive to East Dallas. If not, nightmare cuz alternate routes are limited.

    I'd go Kaufman County, but not off 80. Would consider I-20, but Crandall or Kaufman(the city) on 175 might fit the bill.

    I know that it doesn't fit your drive time, but I would try and get them to move to Tyler and selectively coordinate your visitations.
