How long do you want to ignore this user?
Anyone have a good experience putting in a Generac or similar brand while home generator recently? Looking at different options and hoping for some recommendations. Thanks.

I do not, but there's a pretty long thread on the Outdoors board about it.

...several, actually. They like generators.

I have a good friend that works with them. They do outstanding work.

Jacob; 817-three one three-4318.

If he can't do the work, he'll def put you in touch with someone who can

What's the electrical install with ATS typically cost on one of these. We are getting the 26kw model.

I had a 24kw installed in Dallas and it was $15k and change turnkey for the generator, transfer switch, gas line work, and install. They did everything in house including dealing with the city for permits and inspections. Maybe could have got it done cheaper but couldn't have been easier. I used Premier Generators and the owner did the consult visit/quote and is an Ag.

I've seen some units that are dual fuel--since I have natural gas, would that be propane and nat gas? If so, what is the best size for the propane tank?

Also, how much can a person run on 22kw or 24kw? Is that mainly the A/C system and some of the kitchen circuits or is it truly the whole house? Do you need to minimize usage?

We're in a 4 bed, 3 bath house with 2600 sq ft overall. Do I need to do a deep dive on electric bill to size things up? I checked and our peak month in August was 3162 kWh

If you have nat gas why would you deal with a propane tank? I have a 4k SF house and was told our 24kw will run everything with the exception of the electric clothes dryer if both a/c units are on. The a/c units are set up with one on a delay so they aren't starting up at the same time but both will run.

there are some concerns about reliable supply of natural gas during extended winter blackouts/brownouts...
