Howdy Ags!

#1. So last weekend the outlets in our boys bathroom went DEAD. The lights all work. I took the opportunity to update the switches and outlets from their 1980's knobs and plates. Still DEAD. I'm handy but not with electricity. We have a 1950's home and there are a ton of wires and boxes in the attic so I trust myself to know what is what.

#2. We would love to add an outlet to our other bathroom so need to daisy chain an existing plug or bring another line down off the box.

Any suggestions?

Thank you! Bruce was a great guy. Had time and came by today, taught me a little about breakers and some basic loops. Ended up being at the breaker, old wiring had come loose there.

Honest and very down to earth older gentleman. I would recommend him to anyone with issues here East of 75.

Called him this morning and he came out same day. Fixed my problem in an hour at a fair price.

Bruce still working?

Have what appears to be a wiring/breaker issue and sounds like he can be trusted.

So funny turn of events.

Bruce only works in Lake Highlands area. He recommended me to a guy in Arlington. Guy in Arlington said he doesn't go to Fort Worth but recommended a guy in Fort Worth. The third guy said to just call Oncor as my issue most likely is on their side. He will come out if Oncor says nothing is wrong.

Oncor is a 2 week wait for non emergencies.

Do your 240v appliances (oven, clothes dryer if electric and not gas, etc) all work? If so, the issue is not on Oncor's side. The electrician you spoke with probably assumed that you lost one hot leg of the split 120/240 service on the Oncor side of the meter. This would effectively kill all of your 240v appliances. If not, you have something else going on with your breaker panel or wiring.

Edit: disregard if you have other issues like lights dim / flickering. I was getting your post confused with another one I had read recently

Lights will flicker/pulse when the washing machine runs the wash cycle. Also noticed it when the paper shredder runs in the office on the first cut.

We have lights flickering and then going out way sooner than their shelf life. One at a time monthly and random throughout house. I was asked to get the Oncor side checked and verified before an electrician comes to the home.

They all told me to resume normal activities but something to watch if it gets worse while I wait for Oncor.
