No issues man. You'll have to tell us all about the early access experience.
Apparently, both shows will be broadcasted worldwide. Sounds like we're all going to be movie stars. Usually the sound guys are on there a game and stuff like this.
This will be my 5th and 6th metallica concerts that were filmed and released! Maybe I'll finally show up on this one

Nice! I'll post where I make it to each day to see if you guys want to meet up
I entered a few days ago and never got an email. Logged into metclub to check and it says I didn't enter. Ugh. I entered for Sunday but it's not saying remove entry like it is for the whiskey experience so no idea if I'll have a chance at snake.

Congrats 62strat!!
I entered meet and greet about a week ago and got declined for this within a day. Then I entered snake pit a few days ago, but only Friday show. Sunday show entry was messed up giving an error. Mod on metallica forums said they were working on it.
I logged in this am and saw no entries for snake pit. So I entered again this time Fri and sun, glad I checked it.
I've never seen 5 Finger live so that might be worth checking out.
I'll go ahead and set proper expectations for you... I've seen them a couple of times and they were absolutely terrible. Their first couple of albums were fun, lyrically laughable, but they had some bangers mixed in there if you could get over the cringey lyrics. I'm still shocked they've become such a mainstream band. Was it that Bad Company cover that did it? I dig that cover, I'll give them that one.

that and the like 3 other covers… house of rising sun, mama said knock you out, gone away…
I don't like 5FDP and I'm guessing this live show won't change my mind.
Bad company is my favorite ….and it's not even an original lol
I get VOLBEAT vibes from 5……..maybe I'll just show up to Metallica and take my time
no way, I love volbeat. They are pretty much just heavy rockabilly, groove metal… a heavy Elvis. I don't get that at all from five finger. They are more Maybe machine head, metalcore.
Alright texags who wants my lower level seats for tonight only? Near center field, 4th row.
You must already have tickets. I just don't need my seats since I have pit for tonight. So it's tonight only, and I'm gonna say only upper level people qualify.
Post something here, preferably funny, maybe metallica related maybe not, or just plead your case. I don't know, whatever gets my attention, maybe some free beers lol. I'll pick someone, two tickets. We can finish up through text. I'll want to confirm that you have upper level seats.
And go! Cross posted on concert thread.
edit to add, I'll pick someone by the time the show starts. Disclaimer, I'm just going to screen shot my seats to your phone through text; again this will not get you in the venue, but it should be no issues getting to the seats. But I must add, I do not guarantee access to the seats!
I'll start. I'm taking my wife who absolutely does not understand metal, and I keep trying to explain to her why it's the best music in the world. I'm hoping by her seeing Metallica live will change all that. When she explained to her family it's my favorite band, they all looked at me funny like they just don't understand how someone could like Metallica which I thought was really odd. It's my 4th time seeing them live, both Summer Sanitarium tours, and the free show after James had his jet skiing accident. Hoping this isn't the last time to see them, but definitely didn't want to take that chance. I don't have any funny or great Met stories to stand out, haha, but they were what introduced me to rock when I was in intermediate school, been rocking out to them for 30 years since then! even managed to run a campaign to get Nothing Else Matters as our graduating song in high school.

Nailed it on Volbeat. They've got some good stuff, I got really into them back in like 2007-2008 before they really took off. First time I heard them I was like whoaaa wtf is this groovy sh*t. I've kinda worn them out at this point have to be in just the right mood.
FFDP is just cheesedick hard rock to me, I'll never lump them into Metalcore. Metalcore is my favorite genre so i don't want them there haha.
Volbeat has an awesome song with Neil Fallon from Clutch if you've never heard it. Felt compelled to link it here.

In high school I used Battery to wake up the buddy I'm going with tonight. He threw the CD across the house and chased us down the street in his boxers.

hell yeh last year, maybe year before, I saw Ghost/Volbeat. They played this song, and mid song a dude pops out of the middle of catwalk stage floor they had in the crowd rocking that sax.. played the solo, then disappeared back into the floor!
Ghost also had a sax song, they bring out a casket with a dead pope in it and he comes out playing the sax.
I'm sitting there thinking, holy crap, sax may be back! I've seen a single sax in concert before (george michael, maybe a few others) but certainly not two bands, and certainly not a metal show!
Funny, i don't like metalcore, so anytime there's a metal band I don't like I just call them that lol!
Ghost's dead pope playing sax.. some bad ass visuals at their shows. I just saw them last week.

I'd call myself more of a classic Metalcore fan, if that's a thing. I'm a massive Killswitch Engage and Parkway Drive fan if that tells you anything. Parkway might be my favorite band of all time. But if it's heavy, I'm at least interested. People are afraid of metal, but it's pretty incredible how much I've seen metal bring people together. Love the sax stories though, that's great.
i def. like some KSE.. saw them back in the day in mid 00s. i like the melodic cleaning singing for sure, with some groove. Trivium had that going on back in the day too. I guess I like its roots, melodic death metal. I was a huge fan of 90s in flames, at the gates, dissection..
Maybe I should give more of it a try, I really don't know much. Looking at the wiki page, I recognize all the band names, but don't think I've heard 90% of them.
I'm a sucker for catchy, even some pop sensibility at times.. and tons of metal has it at this point.
Volbeat is definitely catchy/poppy as hell, just like Ghost.
But I also love me a 10 minute Opeth journey lol. I'm all over the place really. But I need something to hum along too, whether its catchy, melodic vocals, or some guitar driven melody.
