We're taking a family vacation next weekend leaving from DFW. Does anyone have any recs for a shuttle service that will you pick you up from your house and drop you off at the airport? We're probably a 45 minute drive from DFW.

If we decide to just park at the airport, how much will they charge us to park there per day? We'll be gone 5 nights. Just trying to figure out what makes the most sense.

We don't fly often so please forgive my ignorance.

We just use remote south and it was pretty cheap per day. Their site shows $12 per day but if you prepay you get a discount.

I've used the airport shuttle before and I was the first pick up and then we proceeded to pick up 6 other people in mid cities, Arlington, etc and I didn't think I was going to make it in time. Once I got to the terminal I had to run to the gate.

Prepaying is the way to go. Depending on how early you do it, you can get 50% off to park at the terminals, which makes it cheaper than an Uber or car service.

Sometimes they will offer a discount to park specifically at terminal A, so I will park there and go through security in A, then take the skytram to whichever terminal I need to go to.

There are many things I dislike about DFW, but their skytram is the most efficient way to get across a big airport that I have experienced.

+1 for DFW prepaid parking.

I prefer the express north parking prepay - covered parking, and the shuttle back from terminal usually drops you right at your car. $7 $11.50 a day if you book far enough in advance.

For non-terminal parking, I prefer express covered parking over remote.

.....agree with jpd.

Depending on where you live, TexRail might be an option:

Given you are 45 minutes from DFW prepaid parking is probably the cheapest way to go. I live 15 minutes away in Southlake and it is still usually cheaper to prepay parking versus an Uber for trips a week or less.

Thanks guys. I'll probably go the pre-paid route. Last thing I want to do is be waiting on a potentially unreliable pickup service.

Prepaid parking for sure. I usually just do the terminal as there is oftentimes a solid discount, although that's been less lately

Adding another vote for prepaid. Last flight out of DFW was around $90 for a week of parking attached to the terminal we were flying out of

We always use the parking Spot at Freeport and 114. They always have coupons, the parking is covered. You park your car and get on the shuttle and they take you to your gate/ terminal. When you return you go out baggage claim get on the Spot shuttle and on your was. It is outside of the toll gates so no backup once you get in your car.

The DFW Valet is a nice option too.

Check if your employer offers discounts to places like Parking Spot. I get it for under $7/day

There is a DFW APP where you can prepay parking at terminal and is really reasonable. We were gone for 10 days and the cast was 95.00.

A free option is parking at the DART Belt Line station and riding the train one stop to Terminal A.

We fly out Sunday and still don't have gate/terminal information listed. How long ahead of time do you have to do prepaid parking?

You don't need terminal info. You can park in any of them with terminal parking. If you don't want terminal, then all you need to know is North or South, and that's gonna be based on where you live

The pricing gets worse the longer you wait, and for really busy travel weeks, they do sell out - at least on terminal and covered. If you want covered, you may need to fall back to the Parking Spot or one of the other offsite options.

Which app or website do you use? It's making me select a particular terminal on the DFW app.

Also, we haven't traveled via airplane since 2019. How early should we get to the airport with a 4:35pm departure? We don't have the TSA pre-check or anything like that. Just showing up with boarding pass.

Doesn't matter which terminal you pick. They have no way to monitor it and don't care. If you are on AA, it may change day of the flight anyway.

These days I am for about 2 hours if flying with my fam who isn't all Precheck and if we are checking bags, but here is a link where u can check waits. The beauty of DFW is that the number of checkpoints really help keep the waits down

Well unfortunately I've waited too late to pre pay. Oh well. It says parking is available but pre pay is sold out. With that said, how early should we try to get there?

Why not Uber?

Uber or lyft is the way to go, especially if flying American. You will likely come in a different terminal than you leave, saves time not having to get on the skylink or shuttle.

Skylink is an absolute breeze. Of course if you've checked a bag on your flight home, you can't really use it.

I terminal park, and if we checked bags, instead of waiting I will first go get the car and park it in the 2 hour near baggage claim. Even if we come back in a different terminal where I have to use skylink, I always beat my bags to baggage claim

It's easy, but Uber is a few steps away no matter where you land. And don't have to worry about some jackass denting your car door. I've come home at least 3 times to door dings at the airport.

You can also get good and buzzed on the flight home!
