I have been a client there for years. I haven't been there recently because I have newer cars. My sister called them a couple days ago & got a recorded message from Pierce Family Auto. She assumed Ben must have sold out. She called back again today to get the details. Pierce Family Auto in Denton was receiving a lot of calls from VDub clients that they decided to obtain Vdub's phone number. They don't know Ben. Do you know what happened to VDub & Ben? Where are you taking your VW for repairs?

VDub was awesome. My understanding is that the economics of the business were no longer viable, and they shut down and are not reopening. They were a real treasure, and will be missed. Not sure if a suitable replacement exists in the Irving/Dallas area. We've had really good experiences with Tim's German Auto in Fort Worth. You'll like them.

Always heard good things about Lord of the Rings from friends when their Audi warranty expired.

Related…recommendations on VW dealers? I don't have any contacts in that world. I've heard avoid Clay Cooley.

Our most recent Atlas purchase was at the dealership in Garland mainly because they had a black one. Easy process. I have bought 2 cars in Lewisville but I think they have sold so the salesman I liked is no longer there. I called a few months ago to schedule a service appt & never got a call back. My son & my nephew have purchased in Frisco. I took my car to the Frisco service dept & it went well. I have bought several cars using this method…..Pick the car you want & then find out which dealerships have it. Email the new car sales manager asking what their best price is. Buy the car from the lowest bidder.

I can't stress this enough. And I'll be the first one to give MANY dealers the benefit of the doubt and think some car buyers are being unreasonable in many ways. But having dealt directly with Cooley's store and having known someone who worked with Clay directly, don't even bother. Dishonesty is the LEAST of his (and the people who work for him) faults.
