Any idea what it was doing there and where it was headed? We live in FloMo and the slight north winds Thad them taking off over our house late this afternoon.

Would have been 4:45ish if I recall. Buddy out on Grapevine Lake was equally perplexed, and he flies for AA. Just curious, flight aware did not seem to have this flight, but I think there are other sites that show military flights.

My brother is a C-17 pilot....he thinks it's likely just dropping off a govt official.

When googling yesterday, I came across an article about the AFA women's basketball team flying on a C17 into Stillwater, OK for a game.

They was mad cause it tore up their runway / taxiways. Assume no such problems at DFW.

ETA: after a quick search it appears like they visit DFW a few times a year coming in from international destinations, as noted above presumably to drop off passengers boarding civil flights.

We are about a mile north of Grapevine Lake and laying in the pool watching it bank west was a cool sight.

Last 4th the guys flying the Chinooks up to Frisco fireworks (I believe) flew right over our house low enough to wave at the guys sitting on the back deck.

Very cool and very loud.
