My Aggie son (only 16 hours to go!) is doing a summer internship on a construction job in McKinney this summer. Work is M-F and he has a girlfriend in Huntsville so he'll be gone weekends. I know its a long shot but wanted to ask if any Ags know of any type of room for rent or other temp housing ideas rather than signing a short term lease at an apartment. We're not looking for free!!

If you aren't able to find any other housing options, you might see if you can work out a deal with a hotel in Mckinney. Maybe a reduced daily rate since he will be staying for a couple of months. Might be easier than signing a lease and having to move furniture up there.

We're in Rockwall which is a bit of a drive, 45-60 mins to McKinney depending on location. The commute is not ideal but we have the space so glad to discuss.

I am an executive of a national construction company with an office in McKinney. This may not be exactly what your son is looking for, but I thought I would share just in case we can help each other out.

An employee of mine got relocated out of town leaving us on the hook for the remainder of his lease until the unit is re-leased by the complex. I'm offering a one time $500 bonus to anyone that signs a lease for their unit (this is in addition to whatever specials the complex is running). This is at The Luxe of McKinney (@ Trinity Falls Pkwy and Weston Rd). I'm not sure they will allow a short term lease on this unit. If they don't, please get back with me, and we might can still find a way to work our a deal.

If your son ends up not liking his internship, let me know!

RJH Thank you for the offer. That apartment is awesome! Hell i would like to live there. $500 is a great deal but my kid is trying to find something much cheaper. Good luck finding a suitable person
