Yes, I know you can do it yourself. I have in the past with mixed success. Don't have time right now. Have two properties I need to protest - one in Dallas co, one in Collin Co.

Recs for a company with a good record of success and reasonable rate structure / fee?

My appraised value, while it went up a lot, is still about $50,000 less than what homes in my neighborhood have sold for. So it's hard for me to honestly protest.

I have always sort of had this attitude as well. But I think the whole system is messed up and perhaps constantly protesting and making them change the values might eventually cause a change. It's not like the politicians are ever going to do it on their own.

Have you ever had to actually pay them? As in- have they ever actually saved you money off your actual tax bill or do they just reduce your value for the next year?

So I submitted my protest and they already responded they can't offer a settlement. Can I now hire somebody to take it to the ARB?

I got 45K knocked off my estimate in Denton county just filing a protest online with no evidence (wrote some verbiage as comments respectfully) and accepted that offer today. Was almost 800K.

Anyone else try their automated negotiating tool? The one thing I will say is that it was fast and painless.

I countered with the number I wanted. They countered that by knocking $3k off of their original proposal and said it was the lowest value they would consider.

Didn't accept it yet. I'm wondering if a paid service is going to beat that.

I just got my results back and the county didn't budge. Not really surprising but still disappointing.

The updated homestead exemption is surely going to have a huge impact on the property tax companies ability to make money in fees this year too.

Did anyone in Collin County have any good results?

I got my notice back from propertytax.io as well and no budge by the county. I've used these guys for several years and usually they do a pretty good job. However, this year and last year no movement which is hard to fault them on.
