What are people paying? In Frisco and my rate just went up 50% to 0.75% of my limit of liability. Maybe it was just cheap before but not thrilled about paying several thousand dollars per year.

It's gone insane, I've gotten several quotes and they're all ridiculous. Lots of big storms the last few years, one agent told me they weren't taking on new policies in N Texas.

2 companies write policies in my zip code. One quoted me 9900 and the other quoted 6900. High fire potential and frequent hailstorms

Got a quote from a friend at State Farm and one from Goosehead. State Farm was 40% higher a year... I'd reach out to Goosehead if you haven't yet. Colin Smith is my agent and I haven't had any problems.

mine has skyrocketed each of the past 3 years. shopping annually is a PITA.

2020 - Progressive/ASI -1500
2021 - Mercury - 1988
2022 - State Farm -3511
2023 Renewal (due next week) - State Farm 4115

All of those are with zero claims and equivalent coverages between them all, its just purely cost to rebuild/valuation.

I'll probably stick with state farm again because they treat me well and I have all other policies with them and they are cheaper on my auto against anyone else right now.

i did get quotes from goosehead agent last year and safeco through them was 3000.

I'm in the exact same position. Had Mercury at the same time and have had Germania since. No claims here either in the 4 years I've owned it, some hail damage under former owner in 2010s at one point but nothing too crazy.

Insurance companies are notorious with the bait and switch. They give you a lowball premium for a couple of years and then double it after the third year or so. Farmers has doubled mine in three years with zero claims.

Go through a Broker like Liere. They reshop every year for you.

I went with USAA this year. Beat out Goosehead this time, shocked.

It's brutal. My taxes and insurance are now almost exactly equal to my mortgage.

Was paying $2,660. Went through Goosehead and got a better overall policy for $2,405. David Bailey is my guy there. He is great.

I've been with USAA for > 30 years and I'm considering leaving. Their customer service, at least on home-owners insurance, has deteriorated over the years. Not sure I can beat their rates though: it's $4k/yr but $2.3k/yr after all my discounts.

Just got my quote...in Plano....homeowners up from $4K to $7K....needless to say I am emailing everyone i can right now...insane...

North Dallas here, I've tried just about everyone including all suggested here, everyone is insane. I imagine there will be a lot of uninsured homes and cars in the near future.

Reach out to Liere Insurance in College Station. They are insurance brokers and will shop around for you. I switched from Farmers and they saved me about $1,000 a year. They will work with you to reshop your homeowners and auto every year if you want.

I have used 2 brokers so far and both are in the $6K - $7K range for home.

I am just hoping maybe someone can find something closer to $5K.

....apparently some carriers are already moving out of the Metroplex...also was told that some carriers wont even insure a home over 20 years old...and a lot more fall off at 40....that is me in 10 years...yuck....

I switched from Nationwide to Travelers last month. Nationwide was at $5500, same coverage deductible etc with travelers for $2700.

home prices (and insurance) are jumping quickly in certain areas; I fear there will be another wave of increases once the brakes come off of mortgage at some near future point in time

Travelers is 2nd lowest for me but still up by nearly 3K. Frustrating. One broker mentioned maybe 2nd half of next year things might get a little better

Travelers quoted me $9100 up from $6900. I finally said enough is enough and I will self insure.

So I have a few options and hope to finalize next week...but...i have also had 2 companies say my home is "uninsurable" due to value.

Yesterday, Geico rep said in my zip code, they are not covering homes over $500K which basically means they are not covering homes in my zip code at all....

Our State Farm policy just renewed. The premium increased about 20%.
