AT&T is going to be a host site. No surprise there but now it's official.

Widely rumored to be one of the sites that gets a semifinal. Also (less widely) rumored that it's the only site being considered as an alternative to NY/NJ for the final.

Same here... attended the opening match of S. Korea v Spain (was on same day of O.J.'s low-speed white Bronco chase) and the quarter final of Netherlands v Brazil (rock that baby)

Will be getting ticket(s) to these World Cup matches.

Did they ever figure out how to make grass work in the stadium? I went to a game years ago when they first opened and the field was a nightmare. The grass was getting torn up in no time at all.

Essentially, you just start the process further out , from what I read. There is more to it, of course
It would also require them to not book the place for events for 1-2 months in advance

Cotton Bowl is a dump compared to the other stadiums they'll be playing in, but I'm guessing it's seating capacity is higher than almost all of those stadiums too.

It holds something like 90K people and is much nicer than it used to be after the major renovation it went through about a decade ago. But you're right that It's still nowhere as fancy as cowboys stadium.

I am very excited it will be in Arlington. I live in Arlington and enjoy watching the Cowboys and Rangers play here. I'm home in 15 minutes after games.

Since my BiL owns a professional soccer team, I'm hoping I can score some good seats to some matches.

Foe the 2 1994 matches I saw at the Cotton Bowl (1st round and aquarter-final) there was some type of random lottery (I think)... and it occurred 18 to 24 months before the games commenced. I bought the max allowed, 2 tix to ea. match.

Knockout games will be expensive but it will likely host 2-3 group stage games which might not. Seems unlikely to me that we will get a USA group stage. We could be hosting Serbia vs Indonesia or something like that.
