I've been wondering about this....for my stuff that didn't die it has come back better than I've ever seen it.

It seems to have been a all or nothing event. It died or improved.

my Texas Ash, 8" cal. and Monterey Oak, 15 gal. planted last spring, looks' like they want to bud out, but still haven't. they both have some green when scratched.
