Just moved across Coit from Richardson to Dallas. Last 2 weeks the trash guys have skipped our recycling bin. Was full with some boxes sticking out, as as we just moved. What's the deal? Are there some weird rules I am not aware of?

I do know that those rolling bins that Dallas uses are much more convenient than Richardson's system of everything having to fit in a trash bag.

Not sure what was going on with them lately, we're in the same area and the last few weeks they came pretty late and skipped us once. Usually they come by 830 a.m and the last couple times it's been after 6.

They took the trash and the neighbors recycling, so pretty sure. The boxes weren't all flattened, but come on. At this point I am about to be done with the recycling farse anyway. Will just get and extra trash can and throw the crap away.

I will admit the Richardson method seemd a bit old school and strange at first. And the recycling guys seemed really picky, but I kind of liked it once I got used to it. Especially the twice a week part. Would just put questionable recycling stuff out on the nonrecyling day and let it get trashed. Never had issues after that.

We're up in McKinney and having just moved have a ton of boxes. Neighbors told us that the recycling people will straight up skip the bin if there is a bunch of stuff sticking out. They said the boxes should be loose in the bin and the top needs to close or they won't take it. We've been recycling a little at a time basically.

You might try using the City of Dallas web portal. They are shockingly responsive. I have made a few requests over the past 12 months and in each case the issue was addressed in 24 hours.

I use the Dallas 311 app - OurDallas. You can make a missed trash/recycling pickup request very easily there. You can also anonymously report non-criminal issues (dead animals, streetlights out, street signs down, giant potholes, etc...). I will echo what TMan said - they are usually very responsive.

Your first mistake was you moved to Dallas.

Take cardboard and boxes to the recycling bin at any area elementary school
