He is an elected official, I have a hard time feeling sorry for anyone in Dallas County since this is what you voted for. Move if you don't like your government, there are plenty of other options in DFW that are more conservative.

In all fairness most people didn't even know what County judges did prior to Covid.

And with COVID I still don't see their purpose.

If the two options on the ballot were:

a) elect Clay for another term

b) appoint JWP as lifetime mayor/county judge/Supreme Ruler of Dallas County

Easy call for b

Unfortunately there's 0 chance he'll actually lose….But we can at least root on our Harris County brethren, who look to have at least a 50/50 shot at voting out their almost as-abhorrent county judge, Lina Hidalgo

I actually think there is a very slim chance he loses based on how local media is reacting to Davis. There is some panic in the local dem circles.

aaaaand not even close....

Dallas Co was 59% dem in the last 2018 governor election

65% Biden in 2020

64% for Beto and 64% for Clay now

meanwhile, Harris Co's version of Clay is sitting at around 50/50

Difference is Harris County includes a ton of suburbs and some of the exurbs while Dallas County only has a few "inner ring" suburbs.

Disappointed emperor Clay won by such a wide margin, but there was never a chance he wouldn't win.

Latest results. In no surprise to me, Republicans got their asses handed to them in almost every single race. Pointless to vote in this county going forward so doubt I will except for national races. When Beto gets 62% of the vote and Jenkins wins with 63% then it's over, boys, forever.

I already knew this but had a small hope that considering the current trajectory of the country that some people would wake up. Nope, they just want more Democrat ineptness, corruption, and destruction. Unfortunately, I still live in Dallas County and was unable to move away as planned. Oh welp.

The JJ Koch loss last night stung hard -- even though I knew it was pretty much inevitable after last year's redistricting. He was one of the few commissioners to take a stand against Clay Jenkins during the lockdown nonsense.

Amazing really. If you look at the races, almost every Democrat won by at least 62+%. Not even close in an environment where Republicans should have won at least a handful of races.

Just mind blowing how far left the urban counties have moved even in red states.

This is also the main reason that Tarrant is still a light shade of.red; urban FW (inside 820) is small enough that you have a nice ring of burbs in the county that have the demographics, especially to the west and north, to stay red through the years.

Large cities are the center of culture and arts for surrounding geography and where the upper tier jobs exist. It's where the creative class lives and wants to be and most of those people are leftists.

It's where the best restaurants are. It's where the bars are. It's where the diversity that lefties crave resides.

Large cities are always going to be Democrat and there is no way around it. Once a city gets to a certain size (generally around 1M people) it goes Democrat and never looks back. It's a critical mass turning point for the left

As someone who has followed Dallas county elections for several cycles now, I had no illusions that republicans would win much of anything, this time around, but I did have some hope Jenkins might lose and that many races would at least be close.

Completely wrong so that tells me we are done here forever. It's lost, permanently.
