Any recommendations on the best place in Dallas or North Dallas to purchase a new mattress? We would like to look at Tempur-Pedic mattresses but not sure if we're headed in that direction or not. It has been years since we've purchased a new mattress so any general recommendations are welcome as well. Thank you.

fwiw, online brands casper, helix, as well as a few others have received great reviews, are much better priced and come with 100 day money back guarantees.

Pretty sure there was a Casper thread in another forum in the last month or so.

There are coupon codes for $75 or $100 off all over the internet. I just bought this mattress and love it.

We just bought a King 2 months ago and have been quite happy. Price, American made w/ American sourced components, excellent customer service, 75 day trial period, overwhelmingly positive reviews on multiple websites ... all come togeteher to make a pleasant, easy mattress buying experience. I was willing to try anything that kept me out of a retail store and the uneasiness that comes with buying mattresses from a salesman. This was our first memory foam mattress and we've been happy, but the parent company also makes an inner-spring mattress ... for those that prefer a spring mattress instead. Happy hunting.

I`d recommend you to visit http://sleepmentor.net/sealy-posturepedic-reviews/ to get truly objective information on mattresses. We personally did a lot of research and read a ton of reviews before shopping around. We were hopping from bed to bed to test them out. Finally, we bought Sealy Posturepedic Hybrid. I'd like to warn you, getting out of bed will be so difficult only because it`s unbelievably comfortable!

I would suggest visiting this website before buying a new mattress:

They go into a lot of detail on how mattresses are made, and what's good and what's not so good. The bottom line is they recommend sticking with local, mom and pop manufacturers that will actually provide this type of information. The national brands do not, and are generally best to be avoided. There are a couple of places (one in Forth Worth and one in Lewisville) that they recommend

Since you mentioned you are looking at temper-pedics, make sure you have at least a 90 day return policy. We went with Sleep Experts since they have a 1 year return.

The one we had was way harder than the show-room and never softened up like it was supposed to. It was also like sleeping on a warming plate. I've heard they are better now, but we didn't like it at all.

We tried the Casper and it was ok, but nothing great.

There is a big thread on the General Board about the online retailers. Most of it is about the Casper, but there are others as well. Most seem very pleased. Most of the online retailers offer 100 days money back offer. If you don't like it, they pick it up and donate it to a shelter or recycle it another way. Seems pretty low risk, but that would depend on your attitudes about getting something like a mattress online, and not laying down on in beforehand.

Edit, there is the General Board thread

If you're looking for a new mattress, I do work for a retailer here in the Dallas market. I can answer any questions you might have, and I have a 120 day comfort guarantee on any mattress I sell.
