We will be in DFW this week and wanted to take our kiddo (3 y/o girl) to the zoo. We'll also have an 18 month old cousin in the group. Which zoo is better for our group? We're also visiting the Dallas Aquarium. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Dallas is improving, but the FW Zoo is superior. I would avoid the FW Zoo on half-price day. I think it's Wednesday but just double check on their website.

Agree with above. Ft Worth Zoo is vastly superior. Bass family are big supporters. I believe Ramona has basically made it what it is today.

Do you have a concealed carry permit? If so, don't sell the Dallas zoo short....it's starting to catch up with Fort Worth.

Also, if you have a kid that likes insects, reptiles, etc - they will love MOLA at the Fort Worth Zoo. My 3 yo could spend an hour in there which is ridiculous for a 3 year old.

Fort Worth Zoo hands down. We made our first trip to the Dallas Zoo over spring break and they still have a ways to go to catch up to the Fort Worth Zoo in quality.

If you're going there, you might as well hit the Perot Museum. It's the best in DFW by a mile.

Each zoo has its strengths. We visited the Dallas zoo last October, and the Ft. Worth zoo this last weekend. There were several things I preferred at the Dallas zoo. I think the African exhibit in Dallas is far superior. I would rate them comparably.

I do both frequently, both work and personal, and I prefer the Dallas Zoo actually. One thing to keep in mind with the little ones is the hike out. If your kid decides it is time to crash, and you are in the Texas exhibit at the FW Zoo, it is a long way to the the parking lot.

We used to go to the Dallas Zoo about once a month, now we go about every other month.

FW Zoo is far superior IMO. Lee and Ramona Bass have done wonders for the FW zoo. Less likely to get stabbed or shot in FW too.

Having been behind the scenes at both, to say the Ft. Worth Zoo is superior is selling the Dallas Zoo short. The Dalas Zoo is a much older zoo, and has much less money, but has improved greatly in the past 10 years. I actually like the Dallas Zoo better.

Used to be members of ft worth, now members of Dallas. Africa exhibit is great at Dallas zoo!

FW Zoo is very cool. The Texas Wild exhibit is especially excellent. However, the Dallas Zoo is underrated. The Giants of the Savannah exhibit they opened up a couple years back is excellent. One thing my nephew loved was the cheetah show. They have a cheetah that is pals with a lab. It's pretty slick because they have a long set up with a lure so the cheetah can hit top speed. It's incredible to see in person.
