It's crazy. In fairness, the theater is right on the edge of Frisco.

I'll take the 6 Flags Mall. Recently went to Northpark, and won't do that again. Expensive, and way too crowded.

Followed closely by the Grand Prairie UA. Cheap and never a crowd (honestly not sure how they have stayed open).

my typical got to is AMC eastchase. Its close, has comfortable seats, reserved seating, and usually isnt very crowded. I also go to Coyote drive in for the experience.

However, I still like the Angelika and Texas theater for some more off the wall or unique choices.

Went to AMC Grapevine Mills last night like a dummy, mainly because they were the closest theater playing Foxcatcher to me. We paid 17 bucks a ticket for their "CinemaSuite" theater, which was basically just the dine in option with big leather recliners. While the seating was comfortable it was a. definitely not worth dropping 34 bucks for two tickets and b. a pain because with the seat reclined it cut off the bottom part of the screen. If there's something written in the lower third of the screen you straight up can't see it! It was a terrible design flaw and if you have the option, I STRONGLY suggest you go somewhere else. Like I said before, Magnolia/Alamo are the jams. Angelika and Texas Theater are also jam-worthy. AMC can sit on it.

Does anyone else not love Alamo? I have seen about 5 movies at the one in Richardson and I have had a complaint each time that completely took away from their 'distraction free' environement - brought wrong food, never brought food, they misplaced my credit card, noise level so incredibly loud that I plugged my ears an entire movie (yes I probably should have left). My other issue is that they always bring the check right at the end of the movie when it is often at its climax - and the waitstaff are running around and often talking during this process. I REALLY want to like the theater but I just feel like I have a better and less distracting experience at a normal theater. What am I doing wrong??

I make a lot of judgment on a theater based on the quality of the popcorn. I think Northpark's popcorn is horrible and don't love Alamo's. I think Magnolia and Cinemark actually have the best.

My best experience I think is still at Cinemark Tinseltown - the same theater I went to in middle school and high school. There is no telling how many times I have seen movies there...

Look Cinema is opening a 12 screen facility in Richardson in the CityLine development between Renner & George Bush. Whole Foods is coming there as well.

Northpark for mainstream stuff, Angelika for the smaller flicks and Cinemark Hollywood in Garland when I wanna pay 1.50 for a movie that came out 4-8 months prior

Seriously...I love Valley View.

Never sells out on the newest movies. No lines at concessions. Relatively clean because a lack of use and generally no teenagers.

I live all the way by 635 and plano road but make the trek for the peace of mind.

When I visit home and go to movies with my friend, we typically go to the older Cinemark in McKinney. However, we tried out the AMC at Stonebriar since it was the closest place showing Cake. I was quite impressed. Not very crowded (for a Saturday night), reasonable ticket prices for the area, and the sound/picture was great. Will probably go there again for another limited release movie.

I go to Look if I can catch the first movie of the day...it's always 5 bucks no matter if it's 3d, their evolution theater, etc. brand new movies included.

Date night, inwood or northpark.

Dude night, Alamo for the Carnivore pizza. That might be my favorite pie in town.

and then AMC Northpark for the assorted IMAX releases I want to see (super close to home)
Have they finally put in a real IMAX theatre there? Last I knew, theirs was like, "Look, the screen is a little wider and curves 3% at the edges -- that'll be an extra 8 dollars on top of the regular ticket price please!" 17 dollars for a movie is just way too damn much.
