How long do you want to ignore this user?
So I just accepted an offer to move to Dallas for workand I'm looking for advice on where to live. I'll be working in Las Colinas but
looking to live closer to downtown and reverse commute to work. A couple
questions:

1. Does anybody know someone who is looking to move in the next 3 weeks or so
to an apartment around that area and would be interested in having a roommate?
I'm 23, male, good job, and super easy to get along/live with. Email me at rellis3953@yahoo.com

2. Do any of you all live near the area or could give recommendations on which
apartment complexes to live/stay away from

3. What is an estimate on driving time during rush hour to get to Las Colinas
from either Oak Lawn Area or possibly Lower Greenvillle (I'm also considering
this area depending on commute times)

You're way better off in Oak Lawn than Greenville if you're going to be commuting to Las Colinas.

good friend of mine lives at IMT Seville at Maple/Oak Awn. He works in Ft. Worth and used to live in uptown near 75/lemmon. Said moving that much closer to 35/tollway shaved at least 15 mins on his commute.

It's a big complex with nice floorplans. It's also in the heart of the gayborhood so crime isn't that big and the pool is "fabulous" in the summer.

Always a $8 uber ride to mckinney and you stroll right up maple or cedar springs to the tollway. Great location.

Lived in uptown and worked in Las Colinas for the last 8 years. It depends on where in Uptown and Las Colinas you're specifically talking, but commute will likely be 20-30 in the morning, 25-40 in the evening. Lower Greenville would significantly add on to that.

We live south of the Bluffview in that Greenway Park area and I commute to MacArthur and 114 every day.

114 can be a beating in them morning even if you are counter commuting, especially where it crunches from 4 to 2 lanes.

I take Lemmon up to Northwest Highway (12), continue on 348, exit MacArthur. Then going home, 114 to 35 is a breeze until you hit Inwood which is my exit anyway. Everything South of that is dense even at 4pm.

20 minutes door to door in the AM; 30 minutes in the PM.

I recently moved to Uptown and commute to Las Colinas. I live at McKinney & between Hall and Lemmon, so right on the border between Uptown and the West Village. My commute isn't too bad, about 20-25 mins in the morning leaving at 6:40 and about 30-40 in the afternoon leaving the office between 4 and 5. The later I leave the worse the traffic.

I wish the timing had been a little different. I'd love to have a roommate to help save money because I'm hardly ever home, but I ended up getting a 1 BR place instead.

I live at McKinney Uptown and it's pretty nice I guess. Haven't lived there too long but its nice and more reasonably priced than a lot of other options. I work with a few guys who live at Manchester State Thomas, their commute is a little worse but the apartments are nice - huge complex. I also work with a guy who lives in Post Worthington. His commute is about like mine and he loves his apartment, it has a great location.

If you're worried about the commute, I would stay away from the Greenville area, unless you really enjoy outdoor activities at the lake or want to live at The Village.

The commute from/to East Dallas is horrible. You can't get on 30 west anytime after 5:45 am without it being a parking lot, and 35 northbound is usually congested until you get north of Oaklawn. Coming from Greenville, it could easily take you 45-60 minutes to get to Las Colinas.

If you live somewhere in Uptown where you can get to Oaklawn fairly easily, your commute shouldn't be anymore than 25 minutes.
