We have clearly blurred the lines of "hole in the wall" and "family owned restaurant"

My current favorite is Latin Deli at the SEC of NW Hwy & Abrams (in the Aldi shopping center). Best Cuban sandwich I've ever had.

Thanks drewser!

That was the best sandwich I've had in Dallas!

Not quite what I was used to in Tampa, but that was a damn good sandwich.

Bavarian grill in Plano. Hole in the wall because it's in a weird location. My favorite restaurant in dfw.

Jorgs Cafe Vienna is the best restaurant in Plano. Downtown Plano right across from Lockhart Smokehouse. Incredible German/Austrian food.

Glad you liked it! Try the marinated chicken one, and the pork & pineapple one sometime too. Their desserts are great as well.

You guys need to stop with the Frankie's already.

I already can't find parking there half the time.

This is not the restaurant you are looking for. Move along, nothing to see here!!!!!

Can I be the first to say Frankie's isn't amazing? It's definitely convenient and nice environment, but food is par.

-Del's Hamburgers (Richardson)
-Big Tony's West Side Philly Cheese Steak (Allen)
-Woody B's BBQ (Richardson)
-Noodle Wave (Richardson/Dallas)
-Carmines (Spring Valley & Monfort) *Different family than Coit and Campbell. Both good though
-Casa Milagro (Richardson)

-Big Tony's West Side Philly Cheese Steak (Allen)Fred's Downtown Philly is better, IMO. And I don't think it's been mentioned yet on this thread.

-Carmines (Spring Valley & Monfort) *Different family than Coit and Campbell. Both good though DO NOT ASK THEM IF THEY'RE THE SAME. The look I got behind the counter was 'SoupNazi-esque'. Just walk in, order your slice, avoid eye contact, and enjoy.

If you want to eat Mediterranean, see belly dancing and observe what appears to be mob dealings going down, head over to Giovanni's at Preston/Genstar in Far North Dallas on Friday or Saturday. My wife and I went 5+ years ago because I couldn't believe they had belly dancers. I swear everyone looked at us when we opened the door and thought...WTF are these white people doing here?

Amore's on Coit is good food and cheap as hell. Also if you're looking for hole-in-the-wall try Jasmine's in Addison I think off of Belt Line. It's over near 300. Jasmine's is great Chinese food and you seriously feel like you've walked into a bad Chinese Restaurant set for some Jackie Chan movie (from Hong Kong, not the US). Check both of them out.
