Just curious what the membership prices start at/ enrollment fees/etc. My company reimburses for gym memberships up to a specified amount, but just wanted a ballpark idea before I called and get harrassed with follow-up calls when it's way overpriced.

Mine is $100 month for two people. I think they are like 50-60 a month normally. If you sign up, use me as a referral!

What level is the gym? Gold/platinum?

I have a family membership and it is $160 per month. Our club charges around $60 for an individual. They will almost always waive the initiation fee

We were paying 125 for platinum family membership in Allen.

I'm paying $135 for the platinum in Plano

it doesn't matter what your company will pay. Lifetime is f'ing AWESOME and every other place sucks compared to it. it is the country club of workout facilities. just do it and pay the difference if needed.

I got in a few years ago in Colleyville. $114/month for me, wife, and kid. I've heard that it can be up around $80/month for an individual. I don't think it would be worth that much.

I think our is around $115/month for the Mansfield club (two adults, two kids)

It's worth every penny. Love working out there and we take the kids to the outdoor pool almost every weekend during the summer. Hell, in the long run it's cheaper than having your own pool.

The Onyx level at Mockingbird station is something close to $120 for an individual. My wife works there and my dues were $60. It was REALLY nice; lots of cardio machines, weights and a full cycle studio, but only squash.

from what I can tell, the Onyx location has less overall facilities than the Platinum levels in Plano and Allen

Up until a few years ago, I went to the cubic zirconia location...I think they called it 24 Hour Fitness.

In all seriousness, the higher price of Lifetime is well worth it. The facilities are unbelievably nice. I have only been to our location (Colleyville) but it is great.

Cooper is neck and neck with Lifetime.

As far as hot, trophy wives, nothing compares to the Allen and Plano lifetime locations. Phenomenal...if you like that kind of thing

Lots of trophy wives in Colleyville too. I have never been to the Plano facility but I think Colleyville would best them. Lots of money in Southlake/Colleyville.

Its hard to beat the $8/mo that I pay for all sport access at 24hr.

That is a horrible analogy.

Namely, shelter has a much higher place on the average persons priority list than location for exercise(brick and mortar is a luxury). Secondly, I could work out anywhere and still keep a high level of fitness, the same doesn't apply to shelter vs a persons general well being.

The only thing I really don't like is the locker setup. You put your membership card with a strategically placed hole punched in it into a slot on the inside of the locker to release the key. Half the lockers in the men's locker room have been claimed by people who feel entitled to their own personal locker who have taken a random plastic card, punched a hole in it and just keep the key with them. They staff has to go in every month or so to reclaim the lockers, it usually becomes apparent that this is needed when you can go in at 5 AM and the parking lot is 20% full, yet the lockers are 80% taken.

Their solution to this? They are replacing the keyed locks with combination locks that allow you to set your own combo and not have to worry about a key. It won't be long until all of the lockers are taken 24/7.

$60 / family at the Frisco Athletic Center. Very comparable to Lifetime at half the cost.

Lifetime Mansfield lost some credibility points this morning. I looked up at the TVs and on the LTF channel where they play the videos to go along with the music they pipe in and they were playing "my moment" by Rebecca Black (of "Friday, Friday... fame). When I saw her name on the scream all I could think was REALLY?!?!?

Tree Hugger - when do you work out there? I am usually working out @Mansfield from 5-6.

When I go I'm usually there by 5:30-ish, work out for 45 minutes or so, then hit the showers before I head home to wake up the kids.
