Recommendations?

Pizza - Durkin's
Mexican - Cookie's (Hole in the wall off Hwy 5), Aparacio's (Can be hit or miss), Dos Charros
Sandwiches - Patina Green Home and Market (Downtown on the Square), Spoons
Burger - Baker's Drive in (Greasy style), Square Burger (Gourmet Style)
Chinese - China Sun, Imperial Garden

These are just a few, but there is also a lot in the close by Villages at Fairview and Allen to choose from.

Second for Malaga! And get the sauteed haloumi cheese. Amazing.

also for Mexican, we drive to Manny's in Frisco. Right off main street.

Awesome mexican food.

Mexican-San Miguel isn't too bad
Pizza-Brothers Pizza is pretty good
Burgers-JC's burgerhouse is decent

Sorry, but I just do not see the fascination with San Miguel.

Then you need to open your eyes!

I like the carne guisada and menudo at Juarez off the square.

The shell station off 5 and el dorado has good breakfast burritos and Milanesa tortas.

I like scilily's for their cannolini.

Bill smiths diner is good for breakfast.

I also like imperial garden for my Chinese fix.

2nd bakers drive in and cafe Malaga.

Churchills has good pub food IMO.

I like the wings from a & d buffalos.

I don't see the big deal on San Miguels either. Everytime I have been the tortillas have been crappy Mission brand from Kroger.

Rick's in downtown. Chicken Fried Chicken with chorizo gravy.

Had Sauce today it was extremely good!

I was born and raised in McKinney and never understood the love for San Miquels. Great service but the food sucks.

Bakers, El Juarez, Bill Smith's, and Braums are my favorite but I don't go to the new places when I visit.

if go you go Bill Smith's I think they are cash only, or were the last time I was there, 2 years ago or so.

Rosati's for pizza

+1 for both the Sauce and Rick's Chop House. Same ownership, both excellent restaurants.

Give Jim's Pizza a shot if you are near Church St. And 380.

another vote for Square Burger...great burgers and an excellent lineup of draft beer.

2nd for China Sun.

Regarding burgers... I thought The Pub McKinney's burger was better than Square's offering.
