I'm headed to Dallas this weekend and looking for recommendations on decent-priced restaurants and bars in Addison. I'm trying to make plans for tomorrow night (Friday) and don't know much about that area. What recommendations do you have?

What kind of atmosphere do you want?
Date atmosphere, at least for the restaurant part. Bar doesn't really matter.
budget?
Rafain: The less expensive Fogo de Chao. My wife and I saw a billboard for it 6 months ago, and they were advertising $29.95 per person. Fogo is well over $50 per person. The salad bar isn't as big, but the meat is just as good. Just drove by today and they have a sign out front for the same deal: $29.95. Located just south of Frankford and the tollroad. Call ahead and mention the sign to make sure you get the deal.

Got it. Didn't realize it was a first date. There is a ton of stuff at Belt Line and the tollroad. Houstons, Houlihans, Dream Cafe, El Fenix, Amigos, etc. If you go a little further west on Belt Line there is Remington's seafood, Champps (sports bar but great food and fun atmosphere), BJ's, Blue Goose. Those are the first things that come to mind. Plenty of bars at Belt Line, too. Logans, Sherlocks, Cafe Gecko, Pete's Piano bar, BJ's, Champps. Good luck.
check the sambuca website to see if it's in your price range. imo it's a great date place.

Obzeet will make you look like you know what your doing. It is not that far from addison but if you enjoy yourself you can just stay there.

I ran all of your suggestions by her and she has decided on Gloria's. Thanks for all of your ideas though...I would've been searching all day without the help.

Houston's is near Gloria's. I would just go to the Flying Saucer and get saucered.
Ozbeet is a cool place.

Seriously, you have to be kidding me, Glorias is terrible.
Gloria's is decent, but you should really check out Los Cabos on the tollway. New place that took over where Two Rows used to be. It's excellent!

Are you serious? We have been there with probably 5-6 couples and everyone has really liked it. I know that the other couples have gone back. Each time we have gone, the place has been packed. We have also heard several other people talking about how good this place was, so that was the reason we originally checked it out. Their food is alot better than Mi Cocina, Blue Goose, Uncle Julio's, and Gloria's. What did you get there that you didn't like?
Los Cabos is NOT better than any of the places you listed. Glorias has some damn fine margaritas if anything. I am a fan. Last time I went to Los Cabos I felt horrible for a couple days. Will not go again. FWIW, I went to Uncle Julio's a couple weeks ago for the first time in forever and it was better than I remembered. Nothing spectacular, but still. Mattitos is really the best place for Mexican food.
Blue Goose is just one step up from Taco Cabana. Their food is decent and their margaritas are HORRIBLE. They used to have decent chips, but have now changed over to what seems like Tostitos. You can put down Cyclone Anayas as my favorite Mexcian place around the Addison area. Uncle Julio's has some damn fine Sangaritas, but otherwise, its pretty much the same run of the mill Tex-Mex. Same goes for Gloria's. But they do make a bad ass bean dip.
The Blue Goose on Lower Greenville is great.... never been to the Addison location.... Gloria's is always consistnely good in my book... and yes, their Margaritas are about the best around!
You folks taking dates out in the Addison area need to eat at Andiamo at Belt Line and Midway. It's great food that's really affordable in a nice cozy restaurant. And their lunch menu/prices are awesome, too.

I've heard about this place, but it never crosses my mind whenever we are trying to pick a place to eat. It's now on the top of my list for our next night out.

dude, it's the little things you notice about a restaurant that tell you it is either quality or not.
take for instance the shredded cheese at Los Cabos. It's not done in-house. It's bought pre-shredded. And there are many other things I could pick out about it.
Los Cabos is about shortcuts and sub-par quality. And waaaaayyyy f'ing overpriced for that sub-par quality.

It just doesn't make sense for anybody to take that much passion in discrediting somebodies opinion. You don't like so move on. No reason to convince others to not like it.
Why all the hate for Glorias on here? Everyone is comparing it to a bunch of Tex-Mex places, even though it doesn't belong in that category. It's Salvadorian food, which is actually quite different. Yes, they do have some Tex-Mex on the menu, but it's not what they're known for. And as others have said, their margaritas are amazing.
I'll second akaggie's sentiment. I appreciate Gloria's because it isn't TexMex. Lots of good TexMex places in DFW but Gloria's is advertised as Salvadorian.
Andiamo's is great.... one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the Metroplex.... get the Salmon Rebecca and Seafood Bisque! You'll thank me later!

Whatever. It's chips, salsa, fajitas, nachos, enchiladas, quesadillas, rice, beans, queso, etc. They have a couple things on the menu that are considered Salvadorian, but its all the same.
