I know wholesale instead of retail is the way to go, but I don't know where I can find them.

Anyone have recommendations for places to get an engagement ring for wholesale prices??

Closer to Ft Worth the better, but Dallas area is ok too.

THANKS FOR YOU HELP!!

I have been married for over 25 years. When my husband & I were looking for rings a friend of ours introduced us to a wholesale jeweler. We bought a diamond ring from him. Fast forward about 16 years & we are at a block party. The diamond guy now lives on our street!!! A few years ago I had him take my diamond off my plain gold band & reset it into a different band w/addl diamonds. It turned out beautifully! If my son were to get engaged (and that maybe soon) we would send him to Tao. He is a great guy! Check out anschardiamonds.com or 972-233-1804.Good luck!

I have also been married over 25 years, 26 years ago my bride and I were engaged at Bonfire 1983. I used Kim Gillespie, recently won the title of BEST JEWELER in D/FW sponsored by WFAA, Channel 8.

Great guy, give him a try.

Try Scott Polk, former student and football player. He sponsors everything Aggie in the area.

He designed and made 2 rings for me. After the first one was returned to me, he gave me full credit for it towards my second ring. I didn't think my wife would like the same ring that my earlier fiancee had
Tell him I said "hi."

Spend 10 minutes to learn about diamonds. You will need more knowledge than the C's. Learn what proportions are good for the diamond you want then buy it on eBay and get it mounted at your local jeweler.

I bought from Collections Fine Jewelry in Saginaw. One of the aspects I liked was that they will buy back the diamond for the same price that you bought it if you ever want to upgrade. I'm not sure if that's a common business practice, but I thought it was interesting. Call Terrie Tallon (817) 232 9251

Grissoms in west Fort Worth off Spur 580 is awesome. Small family owned, you will pick your ring, then they will take you back to hand pick the diamond seperately. They are very nice, no pressure. It may seem that it is in a run down area but they have very nice diamonds and are reasonable. When I bought mine, they asked my price range then brought me about 8-10 diamonds in varying sizes and quality within that range to choose from.Obviously you can get a larger diamond that is lower quality or a smaller diamond at a higher quality or grab something in the middle that meets both needs. They are worth a visit.

Absolutely not!!! Many diamonds on ebay are real, but they're enhanced to look better or they're just down right moissanite.

If you really want a cheap diamond, figure out what cut/clarity/color etc. you're looking for and head to the pawn shops to pick out the stone. After you find the stone head to a jeweler to have it set.

I'll be in a shop in ft. worth tomorrow and i'd be glad to talk to you. We're in the process of buying it, but at the moment I wouldn't be able to sell you the diamond but i could certainly talk.

2nd Grissom's. I bought my wife's ring there when I had no money and they made no money on me. I asked Patrick (owner) why he spent the time on me and he said - "I would rather make $100 off you then have you go somewhere else and you will always remember us".
I still go there almost 20 years later for any jewelry I buy my wife.

You can say the same thing about pawn shops. Enhanced diamonds are all over the place. I would suggest buying a certified diamond where ever you get it. Use paypal or a credit card on eBay and have a certified jeweler verify the certificate. If it doesn't add up send it back and it is a simple process to get your money back. You can save about 40% on eBay to a comparable certified, natural, non-enhanced retail diamond.

The Diamond Doctor at the Galleria...outside of Blue Nile, the best GIA certified diamond prices I found.

We found a diamond we liked there, then went to Blue Nile and found something comparable for about 1200 less, and Diamond Doctor lowered their priced about 700...and their diamond had less flaws, so we took it. Really great experience there.

I used Blue Nile online and was very happy with the price, service, quality, etc. Beat the experiences I had shopping around locally in DFW.

Also bought the wedding band with diamonds there and was able to call them at five years and get the same wedding band ring for that anniversary. That was the requested 5 year present. I wish they were all that easy....

Yes, but an enhanced diamond can be detected with a 10x loop. While ebay you do not get to see your diamond and then have the hassle of trying to get your money back.
