Suggestions?

I'm in Dallas and we took my dad to Lonesome Dove for his birthday last month. I thought it would one of those cases where the food wouldn't match the hype, but it was absolutely outstanding.

agree that lonesome dove is fantastic. went there about a month ago and everything, atmosphere and food, was great.

H3 is the best steak I've ever had in FTW.

La Familia on Foch is my favorite Mexican food.

is it expensive? i'm not looking for something real upscale. just restaurants that a few of us that are new to ft worth should try out

H3 is. La Familia isn't a cheap hole in the wall mexican food, but it's not outrageous.

The Love Shack, off 7th or in the stockyards, Freds off Curie over by 7th, Fuzzys and Yucatan Taco stand, Joe T's, mainly for the patio and margaritas, Chimys off 7th and Foch. Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

La Familia is definitely my favorite non hole-in-the-wall mexican. I'd say it's cheaper than Uncle Julio's overall.

El Asadero on Main just south of the Stockyards is my fave "hole" Mexican place.

Sushi: Sushi Axiom on Hulen south of I30
Italian: Cafe Piola just west of the museums or for really cheap go to Margie's in an old building (I think their original building) on West 80 (Camp Bowie west of 820).

Japanese - Japanese Palace - Off Camp Bowie West or I-80

Italian - Nonna Tata off Magnolia or Aventino on Camp Bowie
