We are moving to Plano next month and we need a good pediatrician for our 5 month old. Any suggestions? Frisco area is okay as well.

We use Dr Katz. He was recommended to us by quite a few of our friends, and we have been pretty happy. He is located on Coit and 15th street near the hospital.

How about Richardson? I used Dr. Steven Crow, Richardson Pediatrics, and love him. Great with kids, explains things well, and the rest of the practice are all very good as well.

Dr. Karen Ashworth or Dr. Elizabeth Urich are both good. Ashworth was recommended by our OB/GYN when our daughter (now 8) was born. We take both kids to her. The office is close to the Plano Medical Center (coit and 15th).

We go to church with Dr. Urich and have heard from friends that she is very good, but we just haven't had a reason to change from Dr. Ashworth.

Try to be sure they have separate waiting areas for "sick kids / well kids". Although it doesn't always work to keep them separated it helps. The last thing you want is to take a kid in for a well child check up and have them catch a stomach bug.

We go to Dr. McDonald (Dr. Katz' partner from the post above) He is wonderful and their office is well run. Coit and 15th next to the hospital.

We also use Dr Katz at Plano Pediatrics. We have taken our children there for almost 10 years. The office staff and docs are great, they have seen us through many illnesses and I have been very happy with the care my children have received.

Dr. David Mobley, at Pediatric Associates of Plano. Both he and another there, Dr. Jeanette Smith, both came highly recommended to us from several sources, including parents and the doctor that delivered our son. Their office is at Plano Presbyterian, at the Tollway & Parker. The office staff is very friendly and helpful; they're happy to answer the dumbest questions from first-time parents (we have a 7 month old). For instance, my wife recently took our son to see Dr. Mobley because she thought he had an ear infection. Come to find out, he had simply just discovered he had ears, so he was touching them all the time.

The nurses call back to answer questions quickly, and my wife hasn't ever waited more than 5 minutes in the waiting room.
