You can go to the courthouse or just about any sub-courthouse. A sub-courthouse would probably be faster.

we went to the courthouse during lunch and it took 5 minutes. past security and first door on the right.
courthouse was quick and painless. .. i recommend.
make sure to take cash...they didn't take credit downtown....It was $41 last July....and i think you have to get it 72 hours in advance....
the phone message says they take visa and mastercard
Got mine at Southlake town center, no wait at all on a Friday during the summer.
We got ours at the subcourthouse off Granbury Road. Took about five minutes, no wait.
I think we might have written a check...but not sure.

maybe they do take credit now...that application says it costs $71 now....that's ridiculous.
Don't take a pocket knife if you normally carry one. You can't get in the downtown courthouse with it.
found that out today. i had to run back to the truck
I believe you get a discount if you have been through some kind of pre-marriage counseling.
