I've been going to pro cuts in west FW by where I work, but they've screwed my hair up royally 3/5 times i've been there, so I'm looking for somewhere new.

i just want a cheap haircut that's done well and i figured some of you might have suggestions.

aah procuts. and sportclips for that matter--I looked like a bad 80s new wave video the last time they cut on me.

Try Fox off W Berry St. If you would drive a bit further, that old black barbershop downtown...5th st I think?

i went to sportclips, they did just as badly as pro cuts.

spork?

i've had one of those 'wow' moments after a cheap haircut before. nothing like having to pay someone else to fix what should have been a simple men's short hair cut.

I used to go to an old-time barber shop on Bluebonnet Circle, next to Caro's and Oui. They did a pretty decent job and were inexpensive. I had shorter hair at the time and had to make sure i didn't get a high-and-tight though.

There are two people at sportclips on University that do a good job. If you get stuck with any of their other employees - say a prayer for yourself. I continue to go and request the same girl these days. I think I need to find a barber shop though - places like sportsclips and procuts are so unreliable and their employees often aren't there long enough to cultivate any sort of working relationship where they know your name and exactly how you want your hair cut.

I go to GreatClips usually but you can also go to 7th street barbershop.

Go to Yesteryear Barber Shop off of Bryant Irvin in Cityview. It is next to Wingstop.

Old time barber shop, haircut, neck shaved with hot lather, massage. 17 dollars.

The place on Bluebonnet circle is weird. I went there once b/c it's in quick bike distance from my home. The guy was high I think and could barely tear himself away from the orginal Nintendo he was playing. The haircut sucked and it was $15. All I wanted was a simple 3 guard all over and somehow he managed different lengths of hair.

I always made sure I asked for anyone OTHER than Shelton ... Still a good place, and there's a cigar shop next door. Perfect man's lunch location on a Friday.

I now go to West 7th Barbershop -- good haircut, lots of chairs (shorter wait), hot lather shave. The only problem is, with all of the construction, it's a pain to get in and out. But worth it. I'll be there at lunch today, as a matter of fact ...

Streetfighter, the place on Bluebonnet Cir must have changed. When i went there (02-03), the old man was still running the place i.e. no Nintendos in the building.

I just had the most allsome haircut experience.....

After a year of shaving my head, I decided to grow my hair back out. I usually don't flake on a haircut, I use to go to Mathew Tulley in Uptown to get my haircut. But the guy I went to is no longer there. So, in need of one, I stopped by Great Clips off Lovers & Greenville for a quick one.

BAD IDEA. The chick was so cracked out, she nearly passed out twice while cutting my hair. The second time, I got up and walked out. My hair was pretty jacked, went to Floyd's on Greenville (had I known it was there in the first place it would have been first stop) and had a repair job on it.

Moral of the story - stop going cheap on haircuts.

As FWR states, I quit going cheap on haircuts a while back. I finally figured out if you're getting anything done that requires more than clippers and a guard then it's best to have some consistency.

The guy that cuts my hair now owns the place. I pay a lot more than I should but I can set up a time well in advance, walk there from my house and not have to worry about getting a bad do as this guy knows what he's doing and isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Although I do have to admit I'm intrigued by seeing what some guy that's high and can't tear himself away from an old school Nintendo could do with my mop.

He like to talk about sports. They were mostly sports I didn't give a shyt about. He did let me bring my bike inside the shop, though. That was good since there was nothing to lock it to outside.

I'm not bald yet... And with my height (read: because I wear a hat) there's no way anyone would notice anyways.

So I was in a hurry and needed a haircut. I get a 3 guard all over so it's nothing very challenging. I went back to the place on BB Circle again. This time the guy had me play one of those video games that plugs into your tv. Most of them are old Nintendo or Atari games, but this one was Deal or No Deal. He was going to give me money or something weird if I won the biggest jackpot. I don't know I didn't really understand what was going on. After January 1st he'll also let you play some of the other side games in the box for a cash prize. Man that guy's messed up.

knockouts or sportclips. they know how to do it right, but you need to know what you want before you go anywhere regardless.
