My girlfriend and I love to go get fajitas and are looking for the best place in Dallas (we both live near the Galleria) to go. We've been to quite a few places (La Hacienda Ranch, Cantina Laredo, Joe T. Garcia's) but still love to try new places because that's a lot of fun.

I've heard good things about Mariano's and Gloria's.

Let the argument begin.

I can see how you would say Papasito's...however that's just a chain that you can find everywhere. Definitely delicious though.

Great suggestion with Uncle Julio's. Actually have heard really good things

Gloria's has great pork fajitas.

Chain or no chain I would rather have fajitas from Papasito's than anywhere that has been mentioned as well as the MiCo, Mia's, Manny's group.

Uncle Julio's is very similar to Papasito's.

I agree with Pappasitos, I could eat those any day over others I have found , and additionally Uncle Julios is similar because their creators used to work in a Pappasitos kitchen, and supposedly were sued over the close recipes after leaving

Mariano's is excellent, but the same company owns La Hacienda Ranch so they are similar. I still think fajitas at the original Mariano's in Arlington is better.

Los Cucos is suppose to be opening in Plano soon. Los Cucos has the best fajitas for sure. If any one knows more info on this, please share.

I second Pappasito's for the best anywhere.

Uncle Julio's are solid but I've just had them once so it's hard to say for sure.

Gloria's pork fajitas are also great.

Other good fajitas are Iron Cactus in Downtown Dallas.

Pappasito's hands down.

Uncle Julio's SUCKS imo.

Another option that I love, although it isn't standard fajits, is the sunset fajitas at Mi Cocina.

Seriously, you can make the best fajitas yourself. Go to your nearest La Michoacana (or just about any other carniceria) meat market and buy the marinated fajita meat. It runs about $3.99 a pound and is so much better than any restaurant I have tried.

I can't grill worth a damn and people think I am some kind of master chef when they eat them. They really are that good.

I agree; the best ones are made at my house.

Related: What goes into fajita seasoning? If you don't have actual fajita seasoning from the store, what would you use? I ran into this problem the other night.

First choice: Pappasito's
Second choice: El Asadero in the Stockyards
Third choice: My own, using this marinade (for beef, although it may work on chicken, too):

4 cups light soy sauce
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon each of garlic powder, onion powder and ginger
juice of 4 limes

(Courtesy, the best restaurant fajitas I've ever had: Lupe Tortilla)

Don't worry about the seasoning. Salt, pepper, paprika, and cook the meat indirectly using mesquite and you'll have something better than any restaurant can produce.

1. Papasito's
VERY CLOSE 2. La Hacienda (Frisco)

Slight edge to La Hacienda if I include tableside guacamole.

I second this, they are the best fajitas I've ever had, we do this once a week usually.

As far a Restaurants, Pasados, and not the crappy one in Plano, but the Pasados they have in Hurst and Mesquite. Uncle Julios would be my second choice.

I would say LaHacienda.

The best though are making them at home. You buy the meat at this little Mexican market on Main in downtown Frisco. Their pre-marinated beef fajita meat is awesome.

Diet Cokehead-

Where is the Mexican market in Frisco? East or West of the Tollway on Main?

East of the tollway on Main. Its just past Soccer City once you cross the tracks.

What Klingson said. I think it's "El Amigo's Meat Market" or something like that. Damn good fajita beef.

true story.

i will agree that pappasitos are best. i'll add Gloria's beef fajitas, and Chuy's for honorable mention when you pile on the creamy jalapeno dressing.

If Dallas had an El Tiempo, it would be the only answer acceptable.
