- Pizza Villa is amazing.
- Purdy's, I will never go there again, they changed up their menu, no more buger bar, you have to tip now, and I saw the cook not wash his hands upon leaving the bathroom.
- Upper Deck bar and grill at Campbell and Plano (old Joe's pizza) has really good food and $1 drafts everyday, it has become our new watering hole.
- Chase Place if you can stand the smoke behind Taco Bell on Belt Line has a good burger.
- Holy Frijoles is pretty good
- Amigos off Beltline between Bowser and Glenville has good margaritas and decent food.

Amigos food really isn't good. I've been several times (RISD offical happy hour spot) and don't get it.

I grew up eating at Dos Charros and the orginal Luna De Noche at Lookout and Jupiter. Are they still good? Both would be considered hole in the wall mexican places.

Good to know about Del's Burgers. I drive by often and will have to stop in.

There's a place off walnut called "Gourmet China" that has the best hot and sour soup i've ever had.

Only thing I can stomach there are the fajitas and nachos which are amazing, had their enchiladas about a week ago and just did not like them.

Griffs is really good. It is quite possibly the greasiest burger you will ever eat but it is good.

I like Amigo's and Casa Milagro for mexican.

Caprissi's pizza is solid though located in Garland just on the richardson boarder by Desperados.

Nedley's was not a dive but was maybe my favorite restaurant in Richardson before it closed. Still can't see how it didn't make it.

This is excellent... actually went there last night... I would hardly call it a "hole in the wall" though.

We live right by Caprissi's.... I think they have the best pizza in town! New York style all the way!

oh gosh how can Amigos only get 1 mention on here? Amigos on belt line is some of the best mexican food in Dallas, let alone richardson. perfect hole in the wall. you have to try it.

also, don't waste your time w/ Dos Rios on Belt Line down by Coit. gag.

If there are a lot of Richardson ags, I say we get together for a meal sometime. Or if there are enough... a richardson ags poker game. I know of plenty around...

did anyone ever go to Tong's house on Coit between Arapaho and Belt line? Is it even still there?

Their dan dan noodles were legit.

A buddy of mine from Berkner, his parents own Tong's House, we used to eat free there in high school all the time. And yeah it is still there.

Looks like we have some Ags with good taste in Richardson! A lot of good rec's on here. I only have one that hasn't been mentioned yet, so I'll reinforce previous spots:

Amigo's: The food is okay, and the only thing I like everytime is the little nacho appetizer that comes with a meal. The $2 margaritas for happy hour were good. I think they might be $3 now.

Taqueria el fuego is good. It is not typical tex-mex. Tacos were pretty good.

Del's old fashion hamburgers: still good with tator tots and root beer in a chilled mug. It is now owned/run by new owners, but the food seems the same. Used to eat there in junior high with off campus lunch for exams. You can smell it driving through downtown Richardson at lunch.

Pizza Villa has been there forever. Different pizza, but very tasty!

Venezia is awesome. I love their pizza and lasagna. They have good lunch specials. It is close to my house and has been there for about 13 years, I believe.

Caprissi II (Campbell and Jupiter)- My favorite pizza in Richardson/garland. NY style and delicious!

Cafe Amore on coit is good pizza, too. And it is also BYOB. Everything tastes good there.

T-Daddy's was yummy. I loved his $1 Ram tacos on Sat. They were better than fuel city, IMO (and that is high praise). Terry is the kitchen manager at the e-shire tavern on 190 now, I beleive.

Chien garden is good stuff! Right next to Fred's Philly Cheesesteaks.

My contribution is the House Cafe. It is on Bowser rd. between Apollo and Arapaho, across from the Community Credit Union. Truly a hole in the wall because it is an old office building. Great breaksfasts, large portions, anything you could want, great service, and very inexpensive. They close after brunch on the weekends, but always have a good crowd. Also have home cooking - chicken fried steak, hamburgers, pot roast. Pretty big menu!

I believe Pizza Villa's been round since at least the early 70s... I remember a pizza place that my folks went to when I was a kid... I'm sure that's the place.

When I worked in the telecom corridor in early 90s to 2002, I used to pick up Pizza Villa at least once a month ... I didn't eat in because they allowed smoking in that small space... didn't go well with pizza.

Venezia's has a dish off the menu called "Rigatoni a la Vodka" that's greatness.
