Howdy'all! Our amazing puppy passed away at 16 years old a few months ago. Both sides of my family are allergic to dogs that shed so we are going to get a full standard poodle. I have concerns with buying from a responsible breeder. Does anyone have recommendations on where to find a responsible breeder or even some sort of shelter or rescue?

We are cool with it being outside of Austin.

The crazy thing is that even some poodle mixes can bother both my wife and mom. I have had two bichons and poodles. They are the only two breeds we have found that are safe 100% of the time. We want a big dog so we are going with a full standard poodle

Sadly they aren't breeds commonly found in shelters but would love suggestions on responsible breeders or shelters if the exist

Look up the local or regional breed specific rescue group. They will at least have leads.
