Hey folks!

I'm in Austin this October (Wedding/holiday), over from London, and have convinced my girlfriend to let me book tickets for the LSU game! I'm dying to see an SEC game day and always had a soft spot for the Aggies thanks to Manziel... and very excited for a proper gameday experience

Wondering ... has anyone UBER'd into College Station on a game day Sat morning from Austin? Or indeed got one back on a Saturday evening?

It's obviously available on UBER as a journey but unsure if anyone would actually pick me up for that length of journey. Would be a disaster to be left Saturday morning not having anyone pick me up, which sometimes happens in the UK when you're trying a longer journey on UBER.

I might hire a car but definitely want a few beers so would then need to spend the night/book hotel, etc etc. Have had a brief look at local taxis but think a car hire and hotel still comes in cheaper!

I think I heard of Vonlane doing Aggie game day trips from Austin to College Station and back, but can't remember for sure. Someone should be able to come along and help out.

Brit that sounds expensive. Have you priced the trip?

I think you'd have a really hard time getting that trip picked up by Uber. Could be wrong but I definitely wouldn't assume it.

I don't know the overall odds of getting picked up but every Uber driver I've asked for their longest trip story has said 3+ hours, some to different states.

I do think the odds of a pickup go way down if there is a big local event in Austin that same day.

Normally $100-$120 each way when I check on Uber. Which doesn't seem too bad split between 2 people . Though as mentioned and after reading this doubtful I would get the pick up!

Had no idea existed! Will give them a call. Only downside here is no time after the game to hit up some bars/Northgate but this would be a great option. Thanks a lot!

Yeah it's similar here. A 2h trip is that blurry line where you probably can't rely on it / relying on luck

Dude I'm sure you can get a ride from an AG. My group alone will have at least 3 or 4 cars heading out for tailgate that morning and coming back at night. Just put your info in the thread if you're wanting a ride
