With dove season coming up, anyone have any recs for day dove hunts near Austin?

The family friend that had some property outside of Austin sadly sold it so I've got nowhere to hunt now.

Looking for something simple like I used to do when I lived in SA - Pay around $100 to go shoot some doves, clean them, then drive home, all in one evening. Nothing fancy.

I'm on the east side of Austin. Found a few options on google but curious if anyone had any success or recs?

Thanks.

If you're looking close to east Austin might look for a unicorn instead. Very hard to find good value anymore. I stopped looking. The fields that do come up have been harvested weeks before leaving little to no food. If you go south say to sequin you might have more luck. Too many people willing to pay big money for birds close to town.

Yep lost my place in Neiderwald 5 years ago. Hunted there 19 years for free being friends property. Developer bought it. I asked to hunt. They said 3,000 to hunt that year. Put the gun in the guns safe and can't find a cheap hunt.

Seems like we had a similar set up. Was a 30 minute drive to Uhland for me until he sold to a developer as well.

Hunting wasn't great but you couldn't beat living in the city yet hunting in 30 mins.

There's public hunting land in Granger. I would avoid it on opening weekend and maybe the following week, but after that, it's solid for an afternoon weekday hunt.
