Born in 72, in Texas since 76.

This summer I find myself asking "why are we even here again?"

Born in '55. Lived here all my life. No AC in house, car or school until I was in 4th grade. AC makes you soft! Embrace the suck!

The heat this summer has been a dry heat since mid June, it's tolerable. I had a non-air dorm at A&M and it was the humidity more than air temp that would get me.

I think what bothers me more is the extended period with no rain and everything turning brown. Even over in College Station everything is brown as of last weekend, that is rare. Drive for hours in any direction and everything is brown and dying, looks like a burned out landscape. Ugly. Ready for El Nino rains to green us up again.

I don't feel for them at all, you know what you're getting. It's not a secret that it's hot or that there is traffic and no public transportation.

If I move to San Fran I know that the weather is nice. I know it's expensive to live there. I know that their homeless problem is out of control. It's not a secret.

If I move to Wisconsin. I know that it's too cold for me. I don't have to live there to realize that I won't like it.

Our heat is bad but it's not unbearable. I work indoors but workout outside in the heat. Working out in a garage style gym helps.

These people consciously moved here not only for a work opportunity but also for an investment opportunity. They have both but cannot easily sell their homes right now.

Born '73. Lived here my whole life (Central/South Texas.) You can't pay me enough to leave my home state. The heat is what it is.
