AUSTIN, Texas Local businesses are voicing their concerns after dangerous street races occurred across Austin over the weekend. Law enforcement from DPS and Austin Police are still working to track down dozens of suspects.
"We heard of a lot of tires squealing so I just came out to take a look see what's going on," said Chris McNerney, who owns Sushi Hi and Dance Dance Karaoke, "a huge crowd. I would say 50-75 people outside on their feet. Two cars are just doing donuts around each other."
On Sunday, CBS Austin spoke with one of the managers at Green Mesquite BBQ off of Barton Springs, close to where another street takeover took place over the weekend. A large street takeover also happened in Barton Springs earlier this year.
Austin Police shared a list of the areas they responded to over the weekend. They include Payton Gin/Ohlen Road, Barton Springs/South Lamar, 9900 block of S IH 35 service road, 400 block of North Mopac, and Center Ridge Drive
