This has already been discussed several times above.
It is the problem, not the solution.

Why are you scared?
If you don't illegally stand out in the street with a gang blocking traffic while waving an AK47 there is no chance that Perry will shoot you. He is not a public danger and should not have been charged.
On the other hand, if you shoot someone in self defense this Austin DA has shown that he will ignore the advice of the Chief Investigator, will coach witnesses, will research nonpertinent testimony about internet fantasies; and when the Governor reacts to grass root pressure to free you from your wrongful conviction will illegally release even more of your nonpertinent internet fantasies while coordinating an attack calling you and the Gov racists.
But since you are not one of the scary type people, this DA is no danger to you. Maybe.

As a former resident of Austin, I don't like my tax dollars cleaning up after the city council's idiotic defund the police policies. The liberals are delusional - they have a "safety net" in the form of the rest of the state paying for it. If the residents of Austin want to live without police, I say let them experience the full effects of their vote. I'm a firm believer in cause and effect. Only after Austin descends into a hellscape maybe will they learn.

Definitely Not A Cop said:

Perry posting ****ty things online does not in anyway prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was planning to murder a white person illegally blocking the street with a gun on him. It's not his job to defend his innocence, it's the prosecution's job to prove beyond a REASONABLE doubt that he's guilty. They have not, and the police department agrees with that.

It's pointless lawfare aimed to protect the wolves in our society under the guise of victimhood.
FIFY. And yes there's a difference. You don't have to eliminate every single sliver of doubt and answer every conceivable question. Just prove beyond a reasonable doubt.

A jury of his peers found him guilty. If this gets overturned on appeal that's one thing, but a move by Abbott to pardon is purely political and partisan. Perry's on our team and Foster is on the other team.

This is an extraordinary move (if it happens) and governors should not overturn jury verdicts out of spite or politics.

I think Abbott has decided not to run for reelection so, again, he is responding to grass root pressure to free this wrongfully convicted person just as Dem govs also sometimes do...
BTW, the terminology "jury of peers" eminates from Britain where there really was a peerage that did not want to be judged by commoners. I don't think "peers" is used in American law.
