My neighbor asked if I wanted to go to Kite Fest. I declined since I am evolving more into a curmudgeon that likes my hermitage.

He stopped by afterwards as he and dog were going for a drive. He said he got 2nd place. He bought a $15 kite and had 1100 feet of line. He won longest distance.

Kite Fest... what a beat down that is.

A mixed horde of bourgeoisie & their offspring, DINKs, Hipsters & the occasional old Austinite hippie crammed together in a park all pretending to enjoy themselves while downing overpriced food.
Seems enjoyable if you've never been.

The only things I ever liked about kite fest was (1) leaving kite fest & (2) seeing a d-bag get brained by a kite going Mach 1 that nose dived from 500'. He wasn't hurt that bad.
