Moving from Houston to Bastrop next month. Anybody have any recommendations for a good dentist or a good vet? I promise the two requests are not related...just figured why make two separate posts. But if you do happen to know a vet that does good dental work or a dentist that is good with cats, let me know.

Welcome to Bastrop! We moved out here in 2018 and absolutely love the small town Texas charm.

I know Dr. Mat Lassen at Spring Dental. Hear good things. I still have a dentist in Austin that I am seeing, but will soon be switching over.

As for Vets - we take our dogs, cats, chickens to Bastrop Veterinary Hospital on Hwy 95, just north of town. We have been very happy (as have others, great reviews).

I will give you that downtown Bastrop has come a long way in the last ten years. A cool place to hang out, but outside of downtown man oh man Bastrop has taken a turn IMO. Lived there for several years around 2011. Don't go to walmart unless you have purple hair, face piercings, tattoo's all over your body, and your high.

It's not that bad but there is definitely some bleed over from Austin, to include rapidly increasing property values (and taxes)
