Like many cities in the Austin metro, Dripping Springs' population has exploded in recent years, highlighting a need for more housing to be built. The U.S. Census Bureau estimated that the city's population in July 2021 was 5,787, a 224% increase from 2010.

More housing development coming to Dripping Springs. The median sales price according to Redfin for a Dripping Springs home is $650,000. The average Hays County median sales price is $427,700.
